Merdeka Journey

En.Azizan nak buat Kajian Kraf & Sosialisasi? Saya ikut aje lah…. We started our journey on 30th August, at night after finished duty. Tak tahan ngantuk le…zzzzzz… Decided to sleep at Tanjung Malim. The next day, SIL decided to follow us, so we took off after breakfast. Our 1st pit stop - TRAP! (Taman Rekreasi Air Panas) situated at Felda Sg.Kelah, Sungkai, Perak - suitable for family outing.

Bertelur?

Sexy granny

Arif having fun
The next stop was Teluk Batik Snorkelling Park (Indoor). It was fun feeding & swimming with the fishes & no need to share the beach with so many people (peak season, mind you).

Buat apa tu???
The hotels, motels, chalets and inns were all fully booked and we've no choice but to continue our journey and stay overnight at Taiping.

The next morning, we went to Bukit Larut. For those who have never been there/having heart problem/anxiety disorder/acrophobia/bathmophobia etc….please forget it!! I never thought that the ½ hour journey to the top was sooo… treacherous (steep & narrow winding road) I wouldn't even think of going in the first place. The ranger already warned us that there are several landslides due to heavy rain along the road but since this is the 2nd time I made to the foot of the hill, I decided to go ahead with my plan. Moreover, they are professionals and they won't jeopardizing people's life kan?

After the worn out jeep took off with 11 of us and went pass 2 steep slopes, I was like "uhhh, okay, let me out of here! I'll walk to the top!!" But I don't know what made me keep silent (all of us actually) till the end. I managed to overcome my silly thoughts of "what if the brakes suddenly decided to give way?", "what if the driver lost his focus and steered the jeep into the deep ravine?", "what ifs..." Even though three or more times the door next to me slightly jarred opened when the driver cornered the road, I just prayed for my dear life… And, if I knew that the landslides looked like this,

I wouldn't even dream of getting there!!! Horror, you!!
But the trip was worth it once you reached to the top (after a challenging descent, pheww..).

At 1036 m above sea level, the panorama is breathtakingly beautiful and the air is fresher.

Your problems and fears seem to vanish into thin air…that is until the driver started to honk us - the signal that our sweet precious time is over. Let the countdown begin….

Alhamdulillah, we were safely deposited all in one piece at the foot of the hill. After late breakfast (kalau sebelum, mesti dah keluar semua :p) we continued the journey to Penang. After entering the island by bridge, making rounds, drop at Butterfly Park, we board the ferry which took us back to the mainland.

Pekena nasi kandar dulu baru bertolak semula - ke Taiping again???? This time we lodged at the newest Kamalodge Chalet - a nice place with swimming pool for kids.

Kamalodge Chalet

The next morning, we made our journey back home. Still singgah-menyinggah at Kuala Kangsar (to buy knives & crafts), Lumut (to buy seafood products) and Bidor (to buy guava & water apple) before reaching Tanjung Malim to deposit SIL. At this time and hour, we've no option but to brace the packed highway all the way home….

We reached home around 8 pm and were served the Biggest & Baddest JOKE ever! LOL!!! Gaduh paling kelakar dalam dunia ni, sangat tak matang. We decided to embrace it, fight-no-more and kiss it, mmmuahhhsss!!!!!!
