Kim's Art Gallery

I found met my long lost ex student in Malacca recently, and super glad to see that she's doing well & still continue her interest in ceramics alongside her husband who is known as the famous artist and sculptor in Malaysia.  Kim's Art & Living Gallery is located at Jln. Tun Tan Cheng Lock, the neighbouring street of Jonker Street.  I brought along my colleagues and students to the place & everyone (including me still) just gawked, ooohhs and aahhss at the place, feeling green with envy, hihih...

As I was told, the place is being listed as heritage of Malacca and every owner or tenant of the shophouses must do their best to keep the place 'as is where is' or preserve, restore and refurbish without replacing the historical architecture with new buildings.  And the living gallery, aaahhhh...... so cleverly built and renovated you will feel like you're actually not in one of the old shophouses in the busy street.  Long story short, you have to be there to feel it lah.

So, I present you the pictures of the gallery...

The ground floor gallery
The painting & sculpting studio
The pottery work area
Tangga menuju ke tingkat atas

Galeri tingkat atas yang belum siap sepenuhnya
Jalan menuju ke residential area
Balcony for lepaking
Their own herb garden
Arca  kayu yang  menghiasi dinding
Dijamu buah naga dan teh cina
The model, Eva Yun miaomiao
With Sutan, the King of the house
Arif tries to kidnap Sutan, with owner looks on

With Kim Chong and Angel Gan, the owner of the gallery
